- Use Dropdown when you have a fixed set of options
- Use Text for unique values (IDs, names)
- Use Date for any date-based tracking
- Use Checkbox for simple yes/no questions
Organization
- Group related fields together
- Put most important fields first
- Don't create too many fields (aim for under 20)
Custom Fields in Exports
When exporting leads:
- All custom fields are included
- Column headers use field names
- Values export in their native format
Custom Fields and Forms
VF Fields can be added to intake forms:
- Edit a form in the Form Builder

- Form submissions populate the field
This lets you capture custom data directly from web forms.
